Day 18

S, K and Molly on Butterfly Beach, Santa Barbara

the swooping freeway is lost in the background and there must be more to Calabasas than this but its all I've got

Aztec rent a car sent a taciturn little old man in a low slung Honda sedan to get me to go sign up for the car but he parked around the corner from where he was supposed to be and I had to go back for a mask but overall it was a low key deal. He also thought we lived at the Hermosa Hideaway complex instead of the Casa Verde complex - just silly. The drive on the swooping freeways through the great channel between Los Angeles and Palm Springs was at times inspiring. Stopped for a tall mocha caramel something and a walk up a random oak park hill in Calabasas. K and G got us a beer and then we walked the beach below the Coral Casino near the Beany Baby mansion. Duster Buster loved that. And then there was dinner - the best salmon, small colorful roasted peppers, roasted potatoes, persian cucumber salad, and chocolate chip oatmeal cookies. Oh, and 5 cheeses with warm baguette slices beforehand. Unbelievable. Much discussion about a woman named Doyle who influences others at scale. D is a bit restless or was but is now mostly unconscious. At home on Chiquita Street once again.
